Industrial Duty Pumps & Accessories for Electrical Discharge Machine Applications
Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is an electrothermal process that uses a thin metal wire (wire EDM) with deionized (DI) water. With wire EDM, high-pressure water is used to conduct electricity and to flush particles. The EDM process removes metal by producing a rapid series of electrical discharges, sometimes called “Spark Machining.” The EDM method allows for precision machining from hard conductive materials. The method works for complex machining in any metal including steel, titanium, hastelloy and kovar.
The precision machining from EDM equipment is a common process for machining components for aerospace, gas turbines, medical, automotive and other applications requiring complex precision machining. EDM equipment often runs continuously and therefore requires dependable components to avoid costly breakdowns.
Cat Pumps has worked with manufacturers and users of EDM equipment to develop modified pumps meet the unique demands of EDM applications.
With field-proven dependability in applications around the globe, Cat Pumps provides the best high-pressure pumps and systems for high-pressure DI water systems.
